Water based Rust Preventives And VCI Water based Additives
Water based rust preventives have been trending in industry for a while now. These products were develop as an environmentally friendly alternative to classic oil based rust preventatives. We have a wide range of products available for either indoors or outdoors protection. Indoors Water based formulations are extremely attractive because they are lower cost than most oils, usually VOC free, safe to store and manipulate, have excellent humidity chamber results and can sometimes be used as metalworking fluids or metalworking fluid additives. Outdoors capable corrosion inhibitors are also a very attractive solution that can provide similar protection as their solvent-based counterparts while being safer to use, manipulate and dispose. The biggest drawback to going Water based is that surface preparation requirements are higher and results are less forgiving to a non optimum level of cleanness.
Water based Rust Preventive Concentrate For Indoors Protection
VpCI®-377 is a Water based concentrate designed as a complete
replacement for oil-based rust preventives for indoor protection of
equipment and components. VpCI®-377 is a corrosion preventive
liquid that meets tough anti-pollution requirements. The wide
dilution range with water (0.5-20%)* allows flexibility to customize
the length of protection required and the applied cost per square
foot (or m2).
VpCI-377 forms a solution in water and is applied to
metal surfaces by spraying or dipping. VpCI-377 does
not need to be removed, but if necessary, can be removed
with conventional Alkaline cleaners.

Biodegradable Water based Rust Preventive
BioCorr® Rust Preventative is a waterbased, biobased, and
biodegradable rust preventive product that is intended for preservation
of metals in storage and during transportation. BioCorr® Rust
Preventative provides multi-metal protection and is an excellent
environmentally sound alternative to petroleum derived products.
This ready-to-use formulation can provide protection for up to
two years of indoor storage; or during shipments when combined
with VpCI® packaging materials. Unlike rust preventative oils this
product leaves a dry film on the surface of the metal that is virtually
undetectable. This feature helps to create a clean workplace and
prevents material waste. BioCorr® Rust Preventative is biodegradable;
eliminating expensive disposal costs associated with oils.
BioCorr® Rust Preventative has been awarded USDA BioPreferred SM
designation (www.biopreferred.gov).

Mineral Oil Based Metalworking Fluid Rust Preventive Additive
M-250 is an anticorrosion additive to soluble oils, which
is designed for use with a variety of naphtenic oil-based
formulations. M-250 contains emulsifiers which allow
this product to support stability of water emulsion (when
added to the ready to use emulsion) or to add some
emulsification properties to the soluble oil (concentrate).
When M-250 is blended with appropriate base oils and
lubricants, the resulting soluble oil concentrate produces
a stable oil in water emulsion, that is non-separating and
non-foaming ready-to-use metalworking fluid.
M-250 is very compatible with many lubricants such as
chlorinated paraffins, esters, and sulfurized fats. It is
compatible with a range of biocides and defoamers which
can be added to the soluble oil concentrate or working
emulsion as needed.
As an additive to soluble oils, M-250 can be added to
the final oil in water emulsions in concentration 0.75%
or to the oil concentrate 10-20% based on the dilution
ratio with water.

Corrosion Inhibitor Synthetic Metalworking Fluid Additive
M-251 is an environmentally friendly , low foaming water
soluble corrosion inhibiting additive for synthetic cutting
fluids. It provides corrosion protection to carbon steel,
copper, galvanized steel, and other ferrous and nonferrous metals and their alloys. M-251 provides both
contact and vapor phases corrosion potection during and
